7 Best Romantic Things to Do in Belize
Guatemala is to the north of Belize, which is in Central America. To the east, Belize is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. Belize is a popular vacation spot because it has beautiful beaches, a wide range of ecosystems and wildlife, interesting culture, and friendly people.
1.Altun Ha Ruins
The Mayan people were the first people to live in what is now Belize. Around 250 B.C., they were the first people to live in the area now called Altun Ha. They left behind signs of a wealthy and fancy society. They were a people who studied math and the stars. These days, the Altun Ha Ruins take up about 25 square miles of land.
The site has temples and tombs that people can tour, including the well-known Temple of the Masonry Altars.
It’s hard to get to the sites, so most people who visit do so by cruise ship. People who want to visit the Altun Ha Ruins should bring a knowledgeable tour guide with them.
2.Blue Hole National Park
Blue Hole National Park’s Blue Hole is a natural hollow that was made when the roof of a cave below ground caved in. The hole filled with water over time. Today, a lot of people in Belize like to swim at Blue Hole.
People who are swimming can look down into the caves below with a snorkel or SCUBA gear. On park land, you can also find St. Herman’s Cave. Beautiful pieces of sandstone can be found all over the cave. The park also has a visitor’s center, a rest area, and picnic tables, as well as a network of trails that are great for hiking and watching birds.

5.Laughingbird Caye National Park
Laughingbird Caye National Park is a long, thin island off the coast of Belize’s east coast. It has a “faro” or “shelf atoll,” which is an atoll with steep sides and a lake in the middle. This faro is surrounded on all sides by deep water canals. Because of these special traits, the Laughingbird Faro is a great place for marine life to live.
That’s why the caye was made a protected area in 1981: to protect the animals that live there. It is now a national park in Belize and gets a lot of tourists every year. From the nearby beach town of Palcencia, you can take a boat to get to Laughingbird Caye. Map
6.Xunantunich Maya Ruins
Xunantunich is a fairly new Mayan site that dates back to around 700 to 1000 A.D. In Mayan, the name means “Stone Woman.” A story in the area says that a beautiful, statuesque Mayan woman appears to tourists at the entrance to a cave and then vanishes.
Several times over the years, archaeologists have dug up the spot and found many valuable artifacts that were later lost. The Xunantunich Maya Ruins site is on top of a limestone ridge and has a big building that was used for many things and stucco friezes with carved symbols and elements. There is a tourist center on-site with pictures and maps of the ruins.
7.Caye Caulker
There is no clear reason for the name of this 5-square-mile island off the eastern coast of Belize. It could be a wrong way to say the island’s old name, “Caye Hicaco.” There is a small village on Caye Caulker that still follows the customs and culture of the first people who lived there. There are small, cozy hotels and other places to stay, and many companies are also small and locally owned.
There are many things to do on this island, such as shopping, eating, dancing, fishing, wind surfing, swimming, and watching birds. You can fly to the island or take a water cab from Belize City, which is on the mainland, to get there. Map
