This city is on the Cumberland River in Sumner County, Tennessee. On the west side of Bledsoe Creek is Bledsoe Creek State Park. Hikers and fisherman like to come here. The Douglas-Clark House is an old building that was constructed around the year 1786. It was the jail from 1788 to 1790. It is still a movie theater, but it is the oldest silent movie theater in Tennessee. The Greek Revival style house at Rose Mont was built in 1842. The Sumner County Museum had parts about Native Americans and African Americans when it first opened in 1975. It also had groups of old guns, quilts, games, cars and trucks, toys, and clothes from that time.
1. Swaney Swift’s on the Square
Swaney Swift’s on the Square is on N. Water Avenue in Gallatin’s Historic Square. It has been an important part of the Square since the 1950s. In the beginning, Swaney Swift’s was a drug shop with a soda fountain. It didn’t take long for friends to start going there to hang out and drink fun drinks and milkshakes. The pimento grilled cheese, sweet potato fries, fried pickles, the buffalo chicken sandwich, and fancy burgers with a lot of different toppings are all on the menu at Swaney’s now that it reopened in 2015. There is also live music and other activities here all the time.

The Long Hollow Golf Course opened in Gallatin in 1983 so that golfers in Middle Tennessee could play at a more cheap and easy-to-reach location. The official 18-hole golf course has a rating of 66.2 and is 6,100 yards long from the back tees, giving it a par of 70. The Long Hollow Golf Course is open every day and has a driving range, a putting green, cart sheds, and food and drink stands. Tournaments are also held there. The Tommy Garrott Pool at the Gallatin Civic Center is famous for being the first zero-depth pool in Gallatin, Tennessee. The aquatic center is open seven days a week and has a party area, two snack bars, three water slides, a splash pad for kids, big umbrellas, spray toys, a water tower, and a children’s train slide. At Tommy Garrott Pool, there are three water slides: a 167-foot slide, a 134-foot slide, and a 57-foot fast slide. Triple Creek Park is Gallatin, Tennessee’s biggest park, covering about 185 acres and home to many playgrounds, walking paths, dog parks, softball fields for both adults and kids, soccer fields, sports complexes big enough for tournaments, and more. Trousdale Place is a beautiful house in Gallatin, Tennessee that was once the home of Governor William Trousdale. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. When there are enough staff, people can take tours of the historic home at any time. They can also go during one of the Open House times, which happen four times a year in November, April, July, and September. The gardens of Trousdale Place are open every day from dawn until dusk, but the house itself may not always be open to the public. The Gallatin Public Square is two blocks away from the house.

7. Starr Ranch Grill
The Starr Ranch Grill is in the middle of Gallatin, Tennessee, just north of the Historic Downtown Square. It’s a big, country place with a family-friendly vibe and skulls of cattle on the walls. 8. Sumner County Museum
The Sumner County Museum opened in Gallatin, Tennessee, in 1975 in a historic building from the 1800s. Native American and African American displays, old toys, cars and trucks, quilts, clothes from that time, military and gun collections, music and entertainment things, and more can be found there. Many people have given the Museum different things over the years. One is the first pumper fire engine in Gallatin. There is also a full tinsmith shop, a blacksmith shop, a music show, a military area with displays about the War Between the States, World Wars I and II, and Vietnam, among other things. The museum also had a project called “Travel Trunk” that brought the exhibits to kids in Sumner County schools.

9.Historic Rose Mont
Historic Rose Mont is a house in Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee, that was built in the Greek Revival style. It was built for Judge Josephus Conn Guild and his family in 1842. The house is now where the biggest thoroughbred horse farm in the area used to be. The National Register of Historic Places now has it on its list. The house and land were bought by the City of Gallatin and the Rose Mont Restoration Foundation in 1993.
The historic importance of the house lies in its design. It is a mix of the Greek Revival and Palladian styles that you don’t often see in homes from that time in Middle Tennessee. The Creole-style homes in Louisiana gave Judge Guild ideas for how to build his house. He added Creole features to Rose Mont, such as loggias and galleries that connect the different wings, wide porches, big windows, open-air halls and stairs, a raised basement, and a roof that hangs over the house. From April 15 to October 31, the house is open to the public for tours led by a guide.

10.The Palace Theatre
The Palace Theatre in Gallatin, Tennessee is the oldest silent movie theater still in its original location in the State of Tennessee. The Palace Theatre thrived as a community theater from 1913 until 1977 under the ownership of Bill Roth. During all these years, the Palace was a dominant point on the historic downtown square. After Mr. Roth’s death in 1990s, the theater was purchased by Johnny and Sonny Garrott who later donated it to Greater Gallatin, Inc., now named Historic Downtown Gallatin, Inc. In November 2000, the renovated Palace Theatre opened the doors once again with the movie Kid and continue to function to thisday as a family theatre. To this day The Palace Theatre is a local favorite, showing movies, concerts and stage productions.

11.Douglas-Clark Hous
Douglas-Clark House was made for Elmore Douglas and his family around 1786. It was one of the first courthouses in Sumner County from 1788 to 1790. A lot of the first people to live in the area went to the house for court trials. Andrew Jackson, who later became president, tried a number of cases in this building in his early years, from 1789 to 1790. The Clark family moved into the house in 1831. Documents from the Douglass-Clark House show that slaves lived on the land as early as 1790.The house is now a museum that tells the stories of the people who lived there and helped shape the history of the area. People can come to the house.
