The city of Weatherford in Parker County, Texas, is very pretty. It was founded in 1854.
1.Chandor Gardens
The National Register of Historic Places lists Chandor Gardens as a beautiful house in Weatherford. It was built in 1936 as the family home for Douglas Chandor and Ina Kuteman Hill. The couple took care of the estate until Chandor’s death in 1953. After that, Hill turned it into a public estate and garden center. Hill died in 1978, and the estate went into disrepair. In 1994, Melody and Chuck Bradford, who were married, fixed it all up. The estate was bought by the City of Weatherford in 2002 and reopened to the public as an estate park. These days, the 3.5-acre estate has a man-made 30-foot waterfall, a formal English garden, and a 5,600-square-foot mansion that can be rented for private parties.

2.The Parker County Courthouse, Weatherford, TX
The Parker County Courthouse was first planned by builder W.C. Dodson in 1886. It was based on courthouses he had designed in Lampasas, Hill, and Hood Counties in Texas. As part of the Texas Historic Commission’s Historic courtroom Preservation Program, the beautiful courtroom was fixed up twice, first in the early 1990s and then again in 2002. After being rededicated in 2004, the courthouse became a live history museum that the public could visit with a guide. You can make reservations for trips for both large and small groups by calling the facility. Visitors can also look at the building’s beautiful design or go to special events, like the Christmas party with a 30-foot-tall tree and thousands of lights.

3.The National Vietnam War Museum, Weatherford, TX
There were more than five million soldiers killed in the Vietnam War from 1955 to 1975. The National Vietnam War Museum is a national, non-profit museum that opened in 1999 to celebrate their lives. The museum has a beautiful tourist center and indoor displays, such as one that looks at how soldiers lived in difficult conditions during the war in hootch-style quarters. Outside, the Semper Fi Vietnam Memorial Garden has a 300-foot copy of the Moving Wall sculpture from the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. This copy was built in an area with Arizona cypress trees. There is also a park for reflection and meditation, as well as the Rock Creek Trail, which leads to the nearby Lake Mineral Wells Trailway.

Their restaurant, Oaxaca (WO-HA-KA) Mexican Cuisine, serves delicious food in the style of Chihuahua. It opened in 2015 and is owned by the Ramos family. Real Mexican food and Tex-Mex favorites are both served at the restaurant, which uses only the freshest products and flavors. The restaurant has a beautiful eating area with a full-service bar where you can enjoy delicious Oaxacan food all day, like homemade mole, banana-wrapped tamal, and Huitlacoche quesadillas. Zeno’s on the Square is a lovely Italian restaurant that opened in 2018 and is run by Monica and Zeno Russo, who are also the head chef. The real Italian eatery is famous for its tasty, home-cooked main dishes, like chicken, beef, and seafood classics from all over the country and hand-made pastas. You can choose from tasty pastas like mushroom fettuccine, shrimp gnocchi, lemon ricotta-stuffed ravioli, and seafood carbonara. There is also traditional cioppino made in the style of Tuscany, as well as standard dishes like veal saltimbocca and cotoletta Milanese. There is a full-service bar in the restaurant that serves standard cocktails and a wide range of hand-picked Italian wines.

6.Los Vaqueros, Weatherford, Texas
The first Los Vaqueros was started in Fort Worth in 1983 by Kiki and Johnny Valentine Cisneros, Jr., who are married. The diner moved to the Crown Valley Golf Club in Weatherford in 2011 and has been there ever since. Today, it serves wonderful Mexican food in the style of the Old World for lunch and dinner every day of the week, made from old family recipes. Avocado enchiladas, toasted meat tacos, and chile con carne tamales are all great main dishes. Some of the most popular dishes, like chalupas, cheese and onion enchiladas, and Spanish-style rice, are also on combination plates. From the bar, you can get house margaritas and sangrias, as well as a variety of local and international beers.
