Red rocks and blue skies in Sedona

Arizona

Go on big adventures in Arizona.
Arizona is huge and old, just like its most famous natural feature, the Grand Canyon. It’s a mix of beautiful colors, surprising landscapes, and interesting geology. The state has many beautiful things to see, like snow-capped mountains, rushing rivers, clean lakes, and sandy beaches on the shores of lakes.

It is a place that makes it easy to combine outdoor fun with high-class city living. Take a hike through the alpine woods and red rocks. Old Route 66 takes you through the desert. Enjoy a day at the spa. Arizona has a lot of amazing things to offer, like learning about the past of the Old West, getting better at golf, or shopping at designer outlets and high-end boutiques.

Exploring the outdoors
One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World is Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. It’s a great place to start an outdoor journey. It takes about three and a half hours to drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) to the canyon’s South Rim, which is the park’s busiest area.

At one of the tourist centers or the Yavapai Geology Museum, you can find out about the unique landscape of the area. Get help from an experienced adventure company or outfitter to see the canyon and other beautiful nature areas in the state. For example, you can go on a Jeep tour in Sedona, a float trip on the Colorado River, or a horseback trek in Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.

Going Back in Time
Arizona’s past is made up of stories about brave Native Americans, fantastical adventurers, and the Old West. Arizona is now home to people from 22 Tribal Nations. People can take tours of tribal lands, go to museums and cultural centers run by Native Americans, and buy jewelry and other items made by American Indians at many shops and stores. Arizona has a lot of ghost towns that are like trips back in time to the Old West.

They are also great places to learn about the state’s mining past. Or, check out the sights along old Route 66, which is known as the “Mother Road” because it is so historic. Route 66 goes through Petrified Forest National Park, the Kaibab Plateau, Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon Caverns, and other places in Arizona.

Charms of Cities
The big towns in Arizona have a lot of worldly things to see and do. You can find everything here, from wine and food to high-end spas, art galleries, and shops. Visit a winery in the state that has won awards. Phoenix is the state’s biggest city, and it has a lot of high-end restaurants.

Sedona is known for its health options and new-age vibe, so plan a spa day that you will never forget. You can spend the day at the Tucson Museum of Art looking at Western art or the evening looking at the stars in Flagstaff, which is an International Dark Sky City. One of the 300 golf holes in the state is a great place for golfers to play.
