Bowling Green

A surprising Southern Kentucky town
From its picture-perfect downtown to its friendly residents and rolling green surroundings, Bowling Green, Kentucky, has all the charm of a classic Southern town. However, it’s the unexpected features that set Bowling Green apart as a travel destination. The Chevrolet Corvette, dubbed “America’s sports car,” is built here alone among all other places in the globe. In addition, Duncan Hines, the creator of numerous food items that grace the shelves of grocery stores across the United States, was born in Bowling Green. Numerous museums, kid-friendly events, and outdoor excursions inspired by Kentucky’s natural surroundings all contribute to the enjoyment.

So Many Sports
The minor league baseball team in Bowling Green, the Hot Rods, is named after the city’s intense passion for sports automobiles. Due to its location as the Corvette assembly factory, Bowling Green is a popular destination for global auto fans. The National Corvette Museum is the largest automotive museum devoted to a single model automobile. Set aside a day to visit. More than eighty vintage, collector, concept, and unique Corvettes are on show. Visit the immensely famous Sinkhole Exhibit, where eight vintage cars were lost in 2014 after a section of the museum collapsed. The Motorsports Park, where you may drive a Corvette around a racetrack, is next to the museum. Enjoy stage events, roller coasters, and a water park at Beech Bend Amusement Park. Close by, at the Beech Bend Raceway, watch exhilarating drag races for antique cars or Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Try These Cultural Attractions
The best venue to take in the beauty of nature and art is the Downing Museum at Baker Arboretum. Plan your visit during the spring, summer, or fall to see the Japanese maple, dogwood, and magnolia trees in all of their brilliant magnificence. See a sizable collection of modern artwork by Joseph Dudley Downing inside the museum. The Western Kentucky University campus’s Kentucky Museum provides a window into the past of the area with its displays on regional textile customs and Duncan Hines, the creator of the well-known culinary company that sells the cherished boxed cake mixes. Visit The Historic Railpark & Train Museum if you’re a train enthusiast. There, you can board five beautifully restored antique railcars. Cap up the day with a picture at Fountain Square Park, a downtown gathering place that was established in 1872.

Having Fun in the Outdoors
Reserve a spot at Lost River Cave for the only subterranean cave boat excursion in Kentucky. In addition, there are hiking trails and two zip lines (one for adults, one for kids) where you may get up close and personal. Take the family to Chaney’s Dairy Barn for a tour of the operational farm and a scoop of freshly churned ice cream. In addition, one of the three robotic cow-milking robots in the state, a Lely Astronaut, resides there. There is a method to stay cool in Mammoth Cave National Park as the summer sun starts to shine. Situated just thirty minutes from Bowling Green, the world’s longest-known cave system is an absolute must-see for visitors to the region.
