Fargo

The movie “Fargo” made this small, lively city famous.
Fargo is the biggest city in North Dakota, but even though it only has 118,000 people, it is much more active than its size would suggest. There are many cultural, historical, and fun things to do, so tourists will always be able to find something new. Attractions and activities are available for everyone, from kids and sports fans to foodies and people who love being outside. This is true no matter what time of year it is.

A Nod to Nordic Roots
At The Hjemkomst Center, you can learn about Fargo’s Scandinavian roots through displays about the community’s culture and history. Astonish yourself with sights like the Hjemkomst Viking Ship, which is a copy of a real Norwegian building. If you go in June, you should check out the Midwest Viking Festival and the Scandinavian Hjemkomst Festival in Moorhead, which is right next door. At these events, singers, craftsmen, and chefs bring the Viking era to life.
