Take in a view that is unlike any other.
With easy access to thousands of square kilometers of beautiful red rock landscapes just ready to be explored, Moab is a great place for the whole family to have fun and be excited all the time. Visitors can enjoy the small-town charm of the city while taking in the beautiful scenery of the American Southwest. The city is a famous starting point for mountain biking, hiking, four-wheel driving, and river trips of all lengths and levels of difficulty.

Perfect in every way Parks and forests
Arches National Park is only eight kilometers north of Moab. It has the most natural sandstone arches of any park in the world, including the famous and photographed Delicate Arch. The Windows, a group of four arches that are easy to get to by hiking, is also here. See huge sandstone fins, huge rocks that are balanced, tall pinnacles, and small towers while you’re here.

In less than an hour, people can be on top of the mysterious-sounding Island in the Sky, a beautiful part of Canyonlands National Park, Utah’s biggest national park, which is home to the tall Mesa Arch. Along the paved beautiful drive, the Island in the Sky has many pullouts with great views. Backcountry areas can be reached by hiking paths and four-wheel-drive roads for day trips or overnight stays.

Trails and rivers
From the mesa at Dead Horse Point State Park, which is only a short drive from town and a popular place for mountain biking, climbing, and wide canyon views, you can see the Colorado River winding through the park like no other place. The area is known for its family-friendly whitewater trips on the Fisher Towers part of the Colorado River. The town is the only big one in Utah that is right on the river. In Westwater and Cataract Canyons, you can go on longer, more adventurous trips that last one or more days. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards are also great ways to discover the Colorado River’s calmer sections. The Slickrock Trail is a 20-kilometer loop through the natural sand dunes near Moab in the Sand Flats Recreation Area. It’s a skill test and a beautiful view.

 

Views that are tough
The La Sal Range, which is part of the Rocky Mountains, is the tallest mountain range in Moab. Hike along alpine paths and take in the views of Mill Creek, Negro Bill Canyon, and Professor Creek, where you can find waterfalls in the middle of the desert. There are two lakes nearby that are great for picnics or just cooling off. Visit the small Castle Valley. This area has been used as a setting for many movies because of its famously stark beauty. Take the La Sal Mountain/Colorado River scenic drive from here to see beautiful red rock formations and some of the most famous parks and lookout points in the area.
