Telluride

The best winter games and summer fun
Telluride is a secret gem in the Rockies. It is in a box canyon in the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado. More than any other place in the state, the area is surrounded by 4,200-meter peaks. Telluride was founded in the late 1800s as a mining town. It has a lot of history and some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado. It has a mix of old buildings, world-class hotels, spas, and independent restaurants that make any trip there memorable. Telluride and Mountain Village, which is right next door, are connected by a free gondola. Together, they perfectly combine high-end and modern amenities with old-fashioned beauty and mountain spirit.

On and off the slopes in the winter
There are more than 809 hectares of beautiful slopes in Telluride, which lives up to its name as the most beautiful place to ski. A lot of steps and amazing hike-to scenery can be found on the Plunge, Gold Hill, and Palmyra Peak. For experienced skiers, See Forever and Prospect Bowl are the best places to go. For newbies, Ute Park and The Meadows are the best places to start because they have gentle, open slopes. Most places to stay are ski-in/ski-out or just a short walk from the slopes, so you don’t even need a car.

Besides skiing, there are many other things to do in the winter, such as sledding, Nordic skiing, snowshoe and snow bike tours, and sleigh rides.

In addition to outdoor activities, Telluride tourists can enjoy great food both on and off the mountain. At places on the mountain like Bon Vivant and Alpino Vino, skiers, and riders can enjoy gourmet food and fine wines. When the day is over, they can go to one of the many lively après ski spots. For dinner, restaurants serve everything from traditional steaks and chops to rustic Italian, and Pan Asian, and creative meals made with ingredients from the area.
