How did it make you feel when you got there?
Many people will enter through the valet door instead of the Strip entrance and go straight into the very hot lobby with video art columns. It’s like you’re not in the same room because the movie loop changes all the time. There is also a VIP room near the registration area that is helpful for invited guests because there are sometimes lines to check in.

How is the crowd?
There’s a group of traveling Millennials in this group. This week is Vegas, next week is Ibiza, and after that, it’s back to live at Coachella.

What’s cool: Describe your room.
If you’ve ever seen Cosmopolitan’s scandalous ads about being the “right kind of wrong,” you know exactly who it wants to reach, and it does. Most of the people who come to the Strip are younger and have a lot of money to spend on all the great restaurants, cabanas at the club, and bottle service at Marquee Nightclub. Some of the best rooms on the Strip for parties are here, and some of them even have patios where you can enjoy the outdoors. The Cosmopolitan has been focusing on making its services better for bigger spenders over the past few years, and you can see that in the rooms: The Chelsea Penthouses begin at 2,400 square feet, and the three-bedroom penthouses have patios with views of the city. Clean-edged design fans will like all of the rooms, though. In 2022, MGM Resorts International bought the hotel. It is currently under Marriott management and is a part of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. This collection gives Marriott users special access and points on stays, and you can book through either MGM or Marriott.

We really need some deep, healing sleep. They got us?
There are lots of big pillows on the beds, which are great.

Tell us that the bathroom will be good.
Many of the rooms have different bathroom styles and setups. My Tower One Bedroom was my favorite because it had a really deep Japanese soaking tub with a view of the Strip.

Wi-Fi is likely the most important subject of all. What do you call it?
As part of the $45 daily resort fee.

What to eat and drink Cosmopolitan has had some of the best restaurants and lounges on the Strip for a long time, and they’re always adding fun new things. Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails is one of the newest. It’s a fancy room hidden behind a janitor’s door where you can enjoy a wide range of whiskeys and, yes, even make an appointment for an old-fashioned shave and haircut. David Chang’s fun new Bang Bar by Momofuku at Cosmopolitan’s great Block 16 Urban Food Hall is another new addition. Its old hits, like “é” by José Andrés, “Jaleo,” “Scarpetta,” “STK,” and “Zuma,” never lose their appeal. Try the Detroit-style pizza at the crazy “Italian American Psychedelic” restaurant Superfrico. But the real find is the secret Ski Lodge, which is based on ski chalets in Hokkaido. All of them are in one of the best spots in Las Vegas to watch people.

Is room service worth it?
The Cosmopolitan’s in-room dining is mostly snacks, unlike most hotel IRDs that have a lot of main courses. There are also a lot of healthy choices and shared plates, like nachos and hummus, that are meant to be eaten in your room with other people. But ordering IRD will cost more than other choices, especially since there are great places to eat like Eggslut, Estiatorio Milos, Ghost Donkey, and a juice bar right downstairs. I didn’t order breakfast like I usually do because a full breakfast costs almost $30 plus tax, a delivery fee of $7.50, and 18% service charge. If you don’t mind staying in your room for a long time and don’t care about money, it’s probably a good choice.

Staff: Who would get a prize if you could give one? Why?
The staff here is good, but maybe not as uniform and on point as, say, Wynn’s.

Do any of the other services and benefits stand out to you? It doesn’t matter if it was babysitting, gyms, spas, parking, or something else.
Cosmopolitan’s restaurants are very important. They are some of the best in Las Vegas and definitely the most exciting. Beautiful people will be around almost everywhere you go. The Vesper Bar is one of the most beautiful on the Strip, and it has three levels of bars under one huge chandelier. Since the Cosmopolitan opened, it has had one of the best spas in Las Vegas. There is a big, beautiful hammam that is very much in the style of Morocco.

What did you remember or find most upsetting about your stay?
If you stay in Vegas, you’ll probably end up at Cosmopolitan at some point. It has some of the best restaurants and, hands down, the best places to watch people. There are lots of places to hang out, which is great for Millennials who like to hang out with other people. Cosmopolitan has some edgier shopping options than other places on the Strip for people who want to take a break from all the high-end stores.

In the end, is it worth it, and if so, why?
There are a lot of different room types and sizes, so it’s best to know exactly what you want before you go and ask for a certain room if you can. One of the best things about the rooms is that they have balconies, which is rare in Vegas hotel rooms. There is some bad service, though, and the rooms are some of the most expensive on the Strip, so you better really enjoy the restaurants and bars. That’s what you’re paying for: the social scene.
