Atlantic City
Great shopping, entertainment, and fun on the boardwalk
Attractions like beaches, boardwalks, and nightlife combine to form Atlantic City, which welcomes 27 million tourists annually, the East Coast’s epicenter of fun. Visitors have been flocking to this little but mighty resort town in New Jersey for more than a century, drawn by its attractions, lively nightlife, and opportunities for surfing and shopping.
Experience Resort Living
The well-known resorts in Atlantic City stand up to the promise. When you stay in one, you can enjoy glitzy swimming pools, movie theaters inside, and whatever type of food you want in any kind of restaurant. In addition, the resorts have luxurious mega-spas, never-ending buffets, performances by world-class artists, and excellent golfing chances. If you include splash pools, playgrounds, and kid-only activities for your youngest family members, you might never want to leave.
Famous Boardwalk & Unmissable Shopping
Since the famous boardwalk was constructed in 1870, when it was only a kilometer and a half long, people have been pouring onto it. It now has over six and includes a wide variety of dining establishments and leisure activities. Take a stroll to the Steel Pier and try your hand at a carnival game or go on an exciting ride. After enjoying some saltwater taffy as a snack, visit one of the numerous brightly colored, garish souvenir booths to pick up a memento. Take a swim in the pool or simply lounge on the sand and people-watch.
Shopping in Atlantic City is quite popular because there is no sales tax on purchases of clothes and shoes. The four-story Playground Pier shopping area features luxury stores including Tiffany & Co., A/X Armani Exchange, Burberry, and Louis Vuitton, while the Tanger Outlets, an outdoor mall spanning 15 city blocks, offers great deals. The specialty stores on the boardwalk are a terrific spot to get a present or souvenir from your trip.
Step outside and investigate
For those who want to get away from the beach and boardwalk, there are several of possibilities. The tallest lighthouse in New Jersey, Absecon Lighthouse, has 228 steps. Visit the Atlantic City Historical Museum to travel back in time. Make reservations for a sightseeing trolley trip, go deep-sea fishing, visit the Atlantic City Aquarium to witness marine life, or visit the Atlantic City Art Center to satisfy your need for art.
